Born with a rare genetic disorder, Auro, played by Amitabh Bachchan, ages physically at a rate five times faster than the average human. The syndrome is similar to that of progeria. In the movie we see a meek elderly man who turns out to be a young 13 year old boy who is full of life. Vidya Balan plays Vidya, a gynecologist and Auro’s mother. Auro’s father, Amol Arte, played by Abhishek Bachchan is a politician who has made it his mission to convince the world that the world of politics is not so bad. Also playing a role in Auro’s life is his paternal grandfather Mr. Arte, played by Paresh Rawal.
In the eyes of a 13 year old, Auro recognizes the love and care his parents have for him. He sees the successful doctor his mother is and loves her little quirks. Auro notices his father always wears white as it fits his politician persona. Mr. Arte, like many grandparents, spends all his time talking.
