British Businessman and legal expert Asad Shamim, of Pakistani origin expressed concerns about rising inflation in the Country.

He has demanded a reasonable and proportionate increase in salaries amidst inflation.

Asad Shamim expressed his concern in a statement that the recent increase in inflation has affected the common Pakistani.

In these circumstances, the wages of salaried individuals in the Country should also be increased, so that they are able to comfortably make ends meet.

He further stated that due to the significant difference in the exchange rate and inflation, the increase in salaries of the middle class is inevitable, the reason being that if people find difficulty in running their household and paying domestic bills, they will inevitably look for alternative ways of earning and this will consequently lead society to more corruption.

Asad Shamim said categorically that corruption is not only limited to politicians, but also various institutions including the police and this fact is becoming public knowledge.

If basic needs of the people are not fulfilled due to economic problems, corruption will prevail rather than being reduced.

The Pakistani origin Business leader also expressed concern over pay issues of laborers and employees. He stated that strict action must be taken against those institutions who are not paying sufficient salaries to their employees. This is financial terrorism.

Asad Shamim appealed to the government to set the minimum salary scale to 20,000 Rupees per month in the current economic climate.
