My Favourite Poems

Wide awake, can't sleep;
The journey seems too steep,
Afraid to take that leap,
For the dreams that I keep.

Yearning to break free,
Wrecking the shackles put on me,
By the norms of society,
Bound by my mentality.

Doubts they've instilled in me,
Prevails over everything I see,
Self-belief is the key,
Psyche with a resolute tenacity.

Locked away and confined,
Societal barriers drag humankind.
Often leaving me behind,
Prisoner of my own mind.

Comprehending the trouble,
Forging our mettle,
Strife through the people,
Abolishing our struggle.

Now we've overcome the masses,
Time to end the inner crisis,
A belief we must harness,
Freedom lies beyond the darkness.
