Urdu Spell Checker
Does anyone know of the existence of an Urdu spell-checker? I searched and found quite a few English-Urdu dictionaries online, most of which are in roman. There are a few in unicode like urduword but are amatuer to be considered as a standard Urdu lughat.
If any of Urdu-English dictionaries has been published in computerized printing using, lets say Inpage, then soon we would be finding ways to transcode inpage files to unicode, which then could be used as a database for spellchecker.

Urdu spellchecker would be great. It seems someone had expressed an interest in developing Urdu support for Aspell, but I couldn’t find anything which was actually done in this regard.
A good dictionary is also important. University of Chicago has a good project going on there, but they don’t have Urdu script yet.

Center for Research in Urdu Language Processing (CRULP) has recently launched an Urdu Spell Checker ( [ur] (urdu) اردو املاء کی پڑتال ), available on its website. You can correct spelling mistakes in a text online. It is based on more than one spell correction techniques.
